Use the Northeast Ocean Data Portal to Inform Comments on Federal Register Notices

The Northeast Ocean Data Portal’s Agency Actions page brings together public comment opportunities from Federal agency partners so you can find and weigh in on decisions affecting ocean and coastal waters in one place.

The Portal catalogs past and current public comment opportunities and adds interactive maps of each proposed action or project area. Our Portal team take static coordinates found in the Federal Register Notices and create a spatial representation of the project footprint, allowing users to view these agency actions spatially in context. Now, Portal users can overlay proposed Agency Actions with any of the over 6,000 data layers in the Portal like vessel traffic, fishing activity, seafloor, and marine life distribution data.
