NROC would like you to know –

  • Save the date! NROC’s Fall meeting will be held Thursday, November 5th in Portsmouth, NH. We hope to see you there.
  • In 2012, the Northeastern Regional Association of Coastal and Ocean Observing Systems (NERACOOS) and the Northeast Region Ocean Council (NROC) formed a joint Ocean and Coastal Ecosystem Health Committee to oversee development of a Science and Implementation Plan for an Integrated Sentinel Monitoring Network (ISMN). The co-chairs of the Ocean and Coastal Ecosystem Health Committee are currently soliciting recommendations for improvements to the draft ISMN plan. Further details about reviewing and providing input will be sent to the NROC email list. Review comments are due by September 25.

  • Upcoming Ocean Planning Events: The next meeting of the Northeast Regional Planning Body will be held on November 16-17, 2015, at the Westin Portland Harborview in Portland, ME. In addition, prior to the formal meeting, the NE RPB will host a Stakeholder Forum on October 20, 2015 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. Please visit the NE RPB website to register and for additional details as they become available.
  • EPA Job Posting for Recent Graduates: EPA has posted a job for a climate change adaptation coordinator that is open until September 4.  They are looking for candidates who are within two years of graduation of undergraduate or graduate school and who have New England residency.  Click here for details and please pass this along to any candidates you know who might be interested. Via Regina Lyons, EPA
