NROC would like you to know –
- NROC is seeking proposals to support advancement of shared Northeast state priorities for resilient shorelines. NROC will fund 2-5 proposals that provide data products, tools, information, and processes for shoreline resilience planning and management to coastal decision makers. Proposals should focus on increasing the delivery of scientific information and adaptation tools to coastal communities and decision-makers. The deadline for proposals is August 5th. See Request for Proposals for details.

- National Coastal Mapping Summit – Attend in Person or Remotely: The Interagency Working Group on Ocean and Coastal Mapping (IWG-OCM) is hosting the second annual National Coastal Mapping Summit, June 17, 2015 from 8:30am – noon PDT in Corvallis, OR and invites you to attend in person or remotely. The goal of the summit is to increase opportunities for collaboration on ocean and coastal mapping, and to reduce redundancies and overlap. IWG-OCM is seeking broad participation with federal agencies, and any states, regional/local authorities, academia, the private sector, non-governmental groups, etc. interested in sharing data needs and partnering on coastal mapping data acquisitions. Discussion topics include long-term mapping data requirements and near-term acquisition plans across the participating organizations and participating entities. Types of data to be discussed could include lidar, bathymetry, backscatter, imagery, etc. It is requested that all interested stakeholders submit their priority mapping NEEDS and PLANS in order to inform the discussion. These requirements and plans will be displayed at the U.S. Federal Mapping Coordination site ahead of the Summit to aid collaboration. - Ocean Planning Webinar with URI’s Coastal Resources Center: Join URI Coastal Resources Center/RI Sea Grant’s Director US Coastal Programs Jen McCann, Redstone Strategy Group Project Manager Jason Blau, and Meridian Institute Senior Fellow Rich Innes from 12:15 to 1:15 PM on Wednesday, June 10th as they discuss the environmental, economic and cultural benefits of ocean planning and how to best implement ocean planning across the country. This free live broadcast is part of OceansLIVE! at Capitol Hill Ocean Week, a series of special panels and interviews designed to dive deeper into ocean, coastal and Great Lakes issues. - National Coastal Wetlands Conservation Grant Program (DOI/USFWS). The National Coastal Wetlands Conservation Grant Program (NCWCGP) was established to acquire, restore, and enhance wetlands in coastal States through competitive matching grants to State agencies. The primary goal of the NCWCGP is the long‐ term conservation of coastal wetland ecosystems. Eligible applicants are any State agency or entity designated as eligible by the Governor of a coastal State, usually a State natural resource or fish and wildlife agency. Closes June 24, 2015.
- National Fish Habitat Action Plan (DOI/USFWS). The National Fish Habitat Action Plan is a national investment strategy to leverage federal and privately raised funds to protect, restore and enhance the nations fish and aquatic habitats through partnerships. Eligible applicants are Fish Habitat Partnerships (FHP) and the entities associated with each FHP (i.e. partners). Closes July 1, 2015.
- Regional Conservation Partnership Program (USDA/NRCS). Authorized under the 2014 Farm Bill, this program promotes coordination between NRCS and its partners to deliver conservation assistance to producers and landowners. Combines the former Agricultural Water Enhancement Program, the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Program, the Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative, and the Great Lakes Basin Program. Closes July 8, 2015, for pre-proposals.
